Strategic Sourcing
The goal of the Strategic Sourcing initiative is to allow the State of California to purchase the best IT products and services for the best value. Strategic sourcing streamlines procurement activities by consolidating, renegotiating and automating contracts to achieve significant savings. Under the strategic sourcing initiative in 2006, multiple contracts for the same goods or services, purchased by multiple State agencies, were combined to leverage the State's buying power. The initiative supports the IT Strategic Plan Goal 4, Objective 4: Pursue Enterprise-Wide Procurements.
